President Barrow Declares Yawmal Ashura Public Holiday

His Excellency President Adama Barrow, acting under Section 76 (1) of the Constitution (1997) of the Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Friday, 28th July 2023, a Public Holiday throughout The Gambia, in observance of the Muslim feast of Yawmal Ashura (Tamharit), which marks the first month of the Islamic calendar.

The President wishes to take this opportunity to extend best wishes to all Muslims who are celebrating this important holiday.
