Elegance Magazine now represents more than 50 issues and 14 years of fulfilling a dream nurtured by Lady Chilel to « celebrate Gambians and their stories—from presidents to everyday heroes, including ordinary women, » she says.
She sums up the journey thus: “Over the years, we have had the privilege of featuring prominent African leaders, including Presidents Bola Tinubu and Umaro Sissoco Embaló, the First Lady of Gambia, and prominent Nigerian governors, with thousands of copies of our magazine reaching a wide audience. We have also featured prominent governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Among them is the former governor of Katsina State, our first feature on a governor. Our features have also brilliantly featured the governors of Niger, Kano, and Jigawa States, to name a few.”
